After seventeen years of working in the Western medical field, including ten years as an emergency medical technician, Jennifer Mansur, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac., discovered acupuncture while attempting to overcome chronic pain caused by an autoimmune disorder. Western medicine eased the pain, but the relief often came with too many ill side-effects. When Jennifer tried acupuncture, her whole world changed. She could not believe the difference it made.
The experience caused Jennifer to switch her career focus from Western to Eastern medicine. She received her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Degree from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in 2002. During the last year of training, Jennifer interned at the Chengdu Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine, Chengdu, China; St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico; and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Jennifer has helped hundreds of patients lose weight, quit smoking, overcome sterility, and other maladies. However, her passion is to help other sufferers manage chronic pain caused by cancer, MS, and other diseases.
When Jennifer is not helping others through acupuncture, she enjoys spending time with her family living in Colorado Springs. She is just a tad bit addicted to obstacle course racing and running half marathons. I love to be outside climbing mountains and hiking too. It is a good thing I do acupuncture and Kinesio taping for a living so I can help my help body from all my extra activities. This year’s goal was the Pikes Peak Ascent.
